I just discovered SMScity send free text messages and other VOIP calls options. After you register at SMScity you’re given 30 days to send free sms during the Happy Hour. But you’re given the option to send outside of the Happy Hour time zones if you top up with credit. If you want to send a regular free sms, an advertisement will be attached at the end of each message.

Another great feature that I’ve found with Smscity is that you can send a free wallpaper with your text messages. However, that is not allowed when you send free sms. One downfall in the service for me is that if you add credit to your account you have to add an extra credit to remove the advertisement. If you’re adding money to your account you should not have to pay to remove the ads, it should be included..

Is it possible to cash in for your old mobile phones? YEAHHH! I honestly can tell you that I have about 10 old cell phones that are just sitting in boxes, with cables and all of the manuals that came with it. WHY? I guess if one breaks, even though I honestly can’t see myself pulling out my old Nokia phones without color and 1 inch screen size .. After using my iPhone, Blackberry and Android phones, there is no way I could return.

Oh well, now after researching I’ve found a place to recycle these old mobile phones. With Cash4phones.co.uk, you can just type in your cell phone brand number and manufacturer and it will spit out the price and value of that phone.

Whatsapp vs Ping

Hands down WHATSAPP!!

Why, its easier to use, more features and I love the broadcast messenger. Ping was nice when it first came out but the improvement and details of Whatsapp clearly is the forefront winner. Sending text with data is the best thing that ever happened. However of course not all users have 3g/4g mobile phones or carriers that support it. However, if you can and if you’re friends have it. Give WhatsApp a chance. Right now the Whatsapp rates are:

iPhone: $0.99 in the Apple Store
Blackberry: Free
Android: First Year Free / $1.99

The only con that I can think of for most of these SMS Apps are, scheduling. Thats where a website such as SMSCity comes in, however, broadcasting is good enough if you send it before peak hours/holidays such as Christmas and New Years. I recommend sending those out as soon as possible!!

Have you tried Qeep Mobile Messaging? Well I have and I like the potential!! Its free to use and you can just about do anything with it. I’ve been testing for a while now but haven’t had the chance to post it. You can send messages, upload and share photos and chat. Qeep is downloaded directly to your mobile phone as an app which is totally free by the way as well.

They have been around since 2008 and growing fast. They do offer paid services and messages. I don’t use those at the moment but they are really cheap!

Pinger Textfree Unlimited Free SMS To USA Carriers

The company Pinger has now announced that their very popular iPhone App, Textfree Unlimited will now offer the app free. They have scratched the yearly fee of $5.99 for all iDevice owners. How does it work? First download the app from iTunes or your device directly.

After you load the app, you will have to register by adding your (login display name, email address). Next you will be asked to enter a U.S. zip code to assign a local telephone number to receive text only. If you have family and friends in a certain area its best to assign that area code. Although now it doesn’t matter because most carrier text packages are nationwide and are the same price.

Next, once you receive this number and verify your email address you can start sending free unlimited textfree sms messages with the Pinger app. When I tried it all went smooth and my friends from back home answered and replied smoothly as promised.

What more can you ask for? Its free!! If you want to remove the adds, you have to pay $5.99 but because its unlimited you can just send as many as you like without worrying about character limits!
